The former member of One Direction has spoken up about his decision to leave the band five years after their debut.

He formed the group in 2010 with Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson.

He claimed that there was a lot of politics going on,

and since he anticipated some sort of development,

he decided to act in advance of it.

He was more than prepared to steer his own professional course. Malik,

a man known for his fierce rivalry and desire to set new records, set out to break his own standard.
