This Will Smith Fantasy Movie on Netflix Deserves a Sequel

Like other buddy cop movies like Lethal Weapon and Rush Hour,

Will Smith's Bright is an urban fantasy action film.

Independently, the film's setting in a parallel present inhabited by humans and fantastical beings like orcs and elves gives it credibility.

Bright is one of Netflix's all-time most streamed movies despite receiving mixed to negative reviews.

Will Smith plays LAPD officer Daryl Ward, who is paired involuntarily with Nick Jacoby (Joel Edgerton),

the first orc police officer in the United States.

The failed robbery between them has left Ward suspicious that Jakoby intentionally freed the attacker.

Even though Jakoby is under investigation by Internal Affairs,

the two remain partners throughout the film, putting aside their differences in the end for the sake of humanity.
