‘Ninja Bear’ surprises photographer in Yellowstone

A wildlife photographer was packing up his gear to leave Yellowstone National Park when

suddenly a black bear appeared less than ten feet away.

When Ron Sterbenz saw the black bear,

he remembered that his camera was still recording.

Walking back from the Yellowstone River Bridge,

he and his three pals were on the lookout for wolf signs.

There were no wolves to be seen, but they did observe a single black bear far below them.

Sterbenz said that this was the closest he had ever been to a bear,

and that he had taken the picture when the bear was standing just ten feet away.

Black bears, he said, are the stealth operators of the forest because

they can move like Ninjas and be on or beside you without being seen.
