Marine in Custody After missing 14-year-old girl found in California barracks
A 14-year-old girl who had run away from her grandparents' house in California was found in Marine barracks earlier this month,
and the Marine in question was taken into prison.
On June 14, four days after the girl went missing for the first time on June 9,
her grandmother filed a missing person's report.
The girl's profile was added to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children's database, among others.
The military police at Camp Pendleton, California, located in Oceanside,
located the Marine on June 28.
The girl and the Marine are still anonymous.
According to NBC, the Marine is being questioned by Naval Criminal Investigative Services,
as confirmed by Captain Charles Palmer,
head of communications strategy and operations for the 1st Marine Logistics Group.
NCIS is assisted by the San Diego Human Trafficking Task Force and the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.
