Madonna in the ICU With “Serious Bacterial Infection”
After the 64-year-old singer was sent to the intensive care unit with a life-threatening bacterial illness,
her planned Celebration Tour had to be postponed.
After being admitted to the intensive care unit on June 24, the singer,
now 64 years old, is showing signs of recovery.
The concert series honoring Madonna's 40-year music career has been put on hold indefinitely.
The performance series, originally set to begin in Vancouver,
Canada's Rogers Arena on July 15,
has been postponed indefinitely.
Manager Guy Oseary says Madonna has to put the tour on hold and that additional information will be forthcoming.
Following hip injuries sustained in 2019 on her Madame X tour,
which forced the cancellation of six North American and one Portuguese concert dates,
Madonna underwent hip replacement surgery in 2020.
