Is Marvel Abandoning Kit Harington?

Kit Harington hinted on Twitter that

Marvel may be giving up on the Black Knight character before he even gets started in the role.

Harington has indicated his desire for Dane Whitman (the Black Knight) to return to the MCU in the future,

although at this time,

there are no concrete plans to do so.

The Eternals features a post-credits sequence in which

the Game of Thrones actor uncovers a mystical blade known as the Ebony Blade.

Harington's Eternals character Dane Whitman has appeared in the comics as The Black Knight,

the hero who is typically associated with the sword.

Future Blade star Mahershala Ali, shown here offscreen,

congratulates Whitman on his readiness to use the blade and leaves the scene.
