17-Year NBA Veteran Lou Williams Has Announced His Retirement

After 17 seasons in the NBA, Lou Williams has decided to call it quits. During his time with the Atlanta Hawks,

the veteran guard announced his retirement via social media.

The Philadelphia 76ers used the 45th overall pick in the 2005 NBA draft on Williams,

and he spent seven seasons with the organization before moving on to play for five other NBA franchises.

In 261 games with the Los Angeles Clippers, he had his finest statistical seasons,

averaging 19.1 points, 5.1 assists, and 2.7 rebounds.

Williams has earned Sixth Man of the Year twice with the Clippers (in 2018 and 2019) and once with the Toronto Raptors in 2015.

Williams played in 1,123 regular season games throughout his 17-year career,

averaging 13.9 points, 3.4 assists, and 2.2 rebounds per game.
